01 / TERMS OF USE

Who we are & what these terms cover

Mettelo is operated by Mettelo Technologies Limited. Contact hello@mettelo.com about these terms. They cover the public website and Mettelo community activities, resources and project participation, alongside any specific requirements notified for an activity.

Mettelo connects learning, professional networking, collaboration and practical experience. Membership applications and project-interest forms are separate. Existing resources and community spaces use external services. The wider integrated platform is developing; descriptions of planned capabilities are not promises of availability.

Read these terms and the Community Guidelines before applying or participating. Merely reading this page does not submit an application or give access to a private space.

02 / TERMS OF USE

Eligibility & membership

Community membership and project participation are for people aged 18 or over. Provide accurate information, respect invitation rules and do not impersonate another person. Membership, private-space access and project roles may require review and approval, and depend on capacity and the relevant activity’s requirements.

Apply through the membership form. Express project interest through the separate participation form. Neither application automatically grants a role, interview or employment.

You can leave a community space or ask us to close your membership by contacting hello@mettelo.com. Leaving does not necessarily remove public contributions or records that must reasonably be retained; see our Privacy Policy.

03 / TERMS OF USE

Professional conduct & moderation

Follow the Community Guidelines and the rules of each space. Harassment, discrimination, threats, impersonation, spam, unlawful material and misuse of confidential information are not acceptable. Obtain permission before promotion or recruitment and respect requests to stop contact.

We may remove inappropriate content or restrict participation to address safety concerns or breaches. Responses depend on seriousness, context and repeated behaviour. Urgent restrictions may be necessary before a full review. Report concerns or request a review through Community Support. We consider relevant context and do not promise absolute confidentiality or a particular outcome.

04 / TERMS OF USE

Projects & participation

Before starting a project, clarify scope, responsibilities, time commitment, data permissions, contribution rules and review arrangements with the project lead. Use only data, tools and material you are authorised to use. Explain your contribution honestly and acknowledge collaborators and material assistance, including AI assistance where relevant.

Participation does not automatically create employment, agency, a paid engagement or a right to compensation. Any paid work or other commercial arrangement needs a separate agreement with the relevant party. Do not describe community participation as formal employment or independently verified experience unless that description is accurate.

Existing projects remain in the Project Library; this website does not replace project-specific documentation or management arrangements.

05 / TERMS OF USE

Contributions & intellectual property

You retain rights in your original work unless a separate valid agreement provides otherwise. Respect third-party licences, attribution and confidentiality. Check a repository’s licence and contributor requirements before submitting work; agree any additional use, publication or ownership rights before contributing.

These terms do not grant Mettelo a blanket licence to publish your work, photograph or profile. Obtain necessary permissions before sharing project outputs or using team work in a portfolio. Do not present collaborative work as solely your own.

Website branding and materials remain subject to their owners’ rights. A publicly accessible resource is not automatically free of licence restrictions.

06 / TERMS OF USE

External services & information

Applications use Tally; resources and workshop volunteering use Microsoft OneDrive; projects use GitHub; recordings use YouTube; community activity may use Discord or WhatsApp. Providers have their own terms, privacy notices and access requirements. Their availability, content and invitations may change.

Assess learning material, peer guidance and opportunities for your own circumstances. General community information is not a substitute for qualified professional advice. An external link is not a guarantee of an employer, opportunity or provider’s performance.

07 / TERMS OF USE

Outcomes, availability & responsibility

Membership does not guarantee employment, sponsorship, project placement or professional outcomes. Nor does it promise certification, accreditation, promotion or a particular response time. Opportunities and activities depend on circumstances and capacity.

We aim to keep information useful and correct, but resources may become outdated and activities may change or pause. We may update or withdraw a resource where reasonably necessary. We remain responsible to the extent required by applicable law; these terms do not exclude rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

08 / TERMS OF USE

Privacy & launch updates

Our Privacy Policy explains applications, community activity, support messages, browser storage and the future-platform waitlist. Joining a waitlist is separate from community membership and project participation. Launch-update consent is optional and can be withdrawn through hello@mettelo.com; it is not permission for unrelated marketing.

09 / TERMS OF USE

Questions, changes & your legal rights

For questions or concerns, use Contact & Community Support. We will try to resolve issues fairly. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer, privacy or other rights under the laws that apply to you, including access to a competent court or regulator. No compulsory arbitration or exclusive foreign-court requirement is imposed by these terms.

We may update these terms as services or legal requirements change. We publish the revised wording and date here, and communicate material participation changes through the relevant community channel where appropriate. Separate project agreements and mandatory law continue to apply.
